Living Torah Center Chabad is one of 2500 branches of today's largest international organizations involved with Jewish education and outreach. Embracing the philosophy of the Lubavitch movement, which originated in the town of Lubavitch in White Russia during the 18th century, Chabad's underlying doctrine is "Ahavat Yisrael" (love for a fellow Jew). Chabad recognizes no differences between Jews; its goal is to serve the spiritual and physical needs of each Jew regardless of affiliation, wherever he or she may be, with understanding and with love.

Through this Ahavat Yisrael, Chabad develops a rapport with Jews of every background.  In this way, Chabad-Lubavitch has become the catalyst to reconnect Jews with their Jewish roots and revive the sparks of Jewish consciousness in the hearts and minds of each Jew.

Living Torah Center Chabad has served the Jewish community in S. Monica and the Westside since 1992.  The center was founded, with the bracha (blessing) of the Lubavitcher Rebbe, by a handful of families who were searching for traditional Jewish affiliation, in a Chabad House close to their homes.

The Shul started on Montana Avenue and is now located in the heart of S. Monica, on Wilshire Blvd. Chabad serves the Jewish community from its current center with a Synagogue, Gift Shop, acclaimed Preschool, Hebrew School and other programs, including Adult Education, Women's Torah Study, lifecycle officiation, hospital chaplaincy and social and humanitarian outreach programs.

We invite you and your family to look through this site and note the various activities and educational and social programs being offered by Chabad. We would like to personally invite you to join us for any or all of these meaningful programs.
